| .:|GM|:. all across the island there is a sudden air of electricity crackling, and a brief flash of purple lightning streaking across the sky. A strong wind blows in from the eastern beach, carrying a strange mix of smells and sounds. The smell of spices from far off lands, the scent of logs burning on a fire, the smell of sweet and warm summer rain on damp earth, crisp leaves on a cool spring morning, the freshness of snow from distant mountains, and the earthy richness of roasted nuts. Along with it comes the sound of drums, soft snatches of a dozen interlaced conversations, the crackle of burning wood, a myriad of different muscial instruments playing a beat, and then finally chimes twinkling faintly. .:|GM|:. The chimes begin to ring louder, almost drowning everything out, until all you can hear is the melodic tones of them. The smells all fade until you get one, the smell of electricity or ozone. The crackle right before a lightning strike, and then... .:|GM|:. A purple forked lightning hits the middle of the ground in the largest park on the island, the one where all the Chinese new year events happen. Two young men in suits, one black suit, one white suit, dust dirt off their shoulders then look around.
