The Land of Dragons is a place steeped in ancient history, mysticism and tradition. Magic lingers in this land forgotten by time, as people cling to simple beliefs and ideals. Every family pays homage to those who came before them in the family line. It is said that the ancestors guide the families to great destinies, so those who are not properly honored by their families, will not achieve their full potential. While it is a simple land, it can be a harsh land at times. War is always on the horizon, though for many people in this ancient land, war is just a story that passes them by. The areas they inhabit are so remote, that war simply cannot reach them. They live peaceful and meaningful lives, tending to their farmland and caring for their traditions.
History
The Land of Dragons was a land filled with turmoil, as warring tribes fought endlessly for power. Fighting between themselves, they jostled for control over small scraps of land. Eventually, one man stood forward and united the peoples of the land. He was the first Emperor, and it is his family line that continues to hold the seat of Emperor today. He brought peace to the land, so they could prosper and thrive. Unfortunately, others wanted to take the lands for themselves, and not so long ago they decided to invade. These men were violent and blood thirsty, killing anything that stood in their way. They are known as the Huns, lead by the vengeful Shan Yu. The Emperor was forced to call upon the people of the land, to send men from each family, to train in the army and defend the land against the invaders.
There was an honorable family, known as the Fa family. The head of the family was Fa Zhou, who had made a name for himself when he was younger, though the trials of fighting for his people left him in a poor condition. His daughter, Fa Mulan, took up the challenge of fighting in her fathers name to bring honor to her family. She trained hard, and with the help of several others, she helped to defeat the Hun army. With Mulan's quick thinking and courage, she saved the Emperor when Shan Yu came to his Palace to kill him. For this, she was awarded a great honor, which was passed onto the Fa family. A statue was built in the capital in her honor, and there is a day of celebration in her name. She often visits the capital to advise the Emperor, though she prefers to spend her time with her family at home.
Since the Hun invasion was prevented and peace restored to the lands, the Land of Dragons has become a prosperous place. The army still trains hard, and occasionally are needed to defend against small threats such as the Heartless. These creatures invaded around the time of the Huns, using the Hun invasion as a distraction to destroy the world. With Mulan and her friends defeating the Huns, the army could turn their attention towards the Heartless. Mulan and the others had a little bit of help from some strangers, and they eventually drove out the Heartless. This was many years ago, and for the most part, they have not been seen since. The Emperor has brought about the best of times that the lands have ever known. There is no warring between clans, no fighting over resources. Peace and prosperity runs throughout the lands.
