Personality:
Stoic and wise well beyond her many, many years of life, Akane is an overall gentle and kind soul. While she is much less interested in tricks and pranks than her other kin, Akane is still a Kitsune at heart and enjoys innocently playing around with people to have some fun, often soliciting a laugh out of her “targets” as well. Akane could perhaps be best described as a motherly figure, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to anybody that might need one, especially to children. Despite her gentleness and honesty, Akane isn’t very open about herself and harbors many, many secrets. She respects order and law above all else and is generally confident in her abilities to uphold her own merits and values. She prefers to think before jumping into conflict, or would rather avoid conflict altogether. Pushed into a corner, however, Akane is an equally fierce and confident fighter. Most of all, she believes in second chances no matter the cost, having been given a second chance herself. The “Fall” didn’t change Akane’s personality much, although she is now much more cautious around others.

Weakness:
Ever since the “Fall”, Akane is extraordinarily susceptible to Light magic. Conventional healing is somewhat difficult, but not impossible, as traditional magic sources are only half as effective. However, demonic healing and potions are a good alternative, although her own phylacteries can be used in a pinch. Additionally, Akane must handle herself with great care during longer fights as mismanagement of her skills and abilities could potentially end up severely injuring her.

Weapons:
Night’s Fall, a blade powered by the blood of its wielder and acts as its own phylactery. The more powerful the blood, the more powerful the blade, and its abilities. While more blood itself would also make the weapon more powerful, it would also be very dangerous towards its user. The sword itself is a darkened relic of eons past; nobody knows its purpose or who originally created it. However, the blade is not evil and will accept anybody that can stand to use it, given its rather ghastly, blood-draining conditions. While the blade itself can still be used as a sword, and quite effectively so in the hands of a skilled swordsman, its power lies in the expenditure of its user’s blood. Over the years, Akane has perfected its use and has developed the use of her own portable phylacteries which can be used for a variety of purposes depending on the situation.

Clarification on the phylacteries:

Sword:
Ideally, the sword would act as its own phylactery, allowing Akane to skip the initial "Hol' up, I gotta see if my sword is still sharp and cut myself" step that tends to come with blood magicks. It would have a certain amount of HP stored in it that Akane could release (all at once, I'd imagine) without dipping into her HP first right at the beginning of a fight. In practice, it acts as a free spell if she so chooses to use it as such, but it would be a one time use.

Portable:
Little glass jars/containers of some sort that she carries with her. Perhaps three max at a time, and they must be prepared ahead of time. These containers would store a set amount of HP (10 maybe?) that can be used in place of her own HP. It could be used as... Healing herself in a pinch. Powering a spell. Boosting another spell. Just kind of a multi-tool for whatever might be needed in a moment.

General notes about phylacteries:
I would imagine the amount of HP the sword can store would be slightly higher than one of the portables, although the exact amount of HP either one could hold would ultimately depend on how the magic school is structured in terms of HP cost. 10 HP could be too little, or it could be too much, so there will need to be some adjusting on my end once the school is completed/implemented. It is also worth noting that these phylacteries cannot circumvent the "HP cap" that might be implemented on some spells/permanents. "HP cap" spells will have to be pulled and capped from her own HP pool. The only possible exception is if she prepares a spell that requires an HP cap, potentially Blood Armor, for example, and stores it in the sword for later use. She would take that permanent hit to her HP for as long as the spell is stored, so she would start a fight at lower HP, but would be able to immediately release the Blood Armor spell without spending a round to summon or however that may work.

Armor:
Akane usually doesn’t wear armor, opting for more agility and speed, but she may opt to wear something light if needed.

Items:
A small, white, spherical focus called a Kitsune Ball. Traditionally, these are used to concentrate or store some of the Kitsune’s power. Akane guards this very closely, being the only thing that wasn’t corrupted by the “Fall”. It remains to be her only way to focus and cast magic. Legend claims if you can manage to get a hold of a Kitsune Ball, you can have a Kitsune promise to aid you.

Skills:

Gymnastics - +1 CS to Agility. It can also be used in combat against ranged attacks only.

Weapons Specialist - +1 CS to Fighting or Agility, covers all weapons of that type (her unique sword)

Communion With Nature - The animals and creatures of the forest consider you to be one with them, and you are naturally aware of everything around you in the forest. +1 to Intuition rolls in the forest, and +1 to reasoning to trying to calm an angry animal.

Mystic and Occult Lore - +1 CS to reasoning for researching or understanding magic and demonic or angelic histories, including telling which is truth and which is fiction.

Resist Domination - The person has an unusually strong mind, and is more able to resist mind magic attacks. +1 psyche to defense against these attacks.

GM proposal: Flat regen based on victories she herself got. Every time she KO's an enemy she regains 6 health. The catch is, since it's the sword revitalizing her, it has to be an enemy that bleeds. (robots and heartless she'd get no regen from)

Night's Fall
Cost: 50% remaining health and 25% remaining health, respectively.
Uses: Passive
Description: Under 50% health, Akane's damage goes up by one level (Good --> Excellent). Under 25% health, Akane's damage goes up another level (Excellent --> Remarkable).

Final Look-its:

Blood magic/spells will be fleshed out (hahaha) once its implemented.

Because of the nature of the phylacteries, we'll probably have to wait until the system is implemented in order to figure out exactly what they do and gauge its effectiveness.

The only lingering question is the idea of using HP to fuel/boost more traditional magic. Example: Spend X amount of HP to boost an offensive/defensive spell by one level.

The Fall (short version):

Akane the Fallen, formerly known as Akiko the Wise, was the eldest, most powerful Kitsune of her clan that resided in her world. Having earned her nine tails through many trials and tribulations, she was a respected, motherly figure that sought the protection of her kin as well as the protection of her world. She and her clan stood the test of time, spanning through eras long forgotten as they protected the most powerful secrets of the world from those who would seek to claim them with evil intent. For as long as anybody in the clan could remember, the only duty that was bestowed upon them was to protect these secrets and not dabble within the dealings of other creatures and races such as humanity, no matter how advanced they or other races may become. As such, Akiko and her clan remained elusive, only spoken of in legends by the rare, select few that may have stumbled across one of the Kitsunes. It was a delicate balance, but one that was kept without fail.

That is... Until the Heartless invaded the world. Akiko and her clan were quite powerful, but the Heartless were numerous... When they couldn't take down the Kitsunes, the Heartless began to target the other races. Humans were particularly vulnerable, and for each human that fell, another Heartless would rise to take his or her place. Men, women, children, nobody was spared. Eventually, their numbers were too great, and the Kitsunes began to fall one by one, generating their own, powerful Heartless in their wake. And in their victories, no matter how minor, the Heartless began to learn of the world's secrets. They began to overwhelm the many, many defenses set in place, claiming more and more secrets as more creatures fell to their influence.

The Heartless, now numerous, powerful, and have claimed nearly everything the world had to offer, began to centralize en masse to deal the final blow to the world itself. The only creatures left to fight were a handful of Kitsune, including Akiko, and the humans, who proved themselves to be quite a staunch defender despite their weakness to the darkness in their own hearts. Practically connected to the world itself via astral magicks, Akiko sensed the formation of a large, hulking, daunting Heartless... One bigger than any she had ever seen before. She sensed its absolute, destructive power; it was enough to end the world in one, fatal blow if it so wished... And then it dawned upon her... That's exactly what the Heartless wanted. They... whatever they were... didn't want the humans. They didn't want the Kitsunes. They didn't want the secrets... They wanted the world itself.

It was then that Akiko understood that she wouldn't be able to defeat this hulking Heartless, even with the help of her fellow Kitsune and the remaining combatants. She needed a boost, something that could end the Heartless once and for all. Something that came in the form of one of the world's most defended secrets... Something that the Heartless have been avoiding, or simply have not found. Night's Fall...

Night's Fall was a relic of eons past; a blade of immense power that even the Kitsunes were forbidden to touch, much less wield. In an act of desperation to save her clan and her world, Akiko attempted to pull the blade out of its pedestal, and she paid a heavy, heavy price. Akiko essentially died, spilling most of her blood to release the blade... But Night's Fall accepted Akiko's tribute, transforming her into a shadow of her former self. She lost all but one of her tails, sealing most of her magical abilities away, and sprouted dark, demonic wings. But in return, Akiko gained a particular, cursed power over her own life force.

Using her newfound power and abilities, Akiko was able to stave off the Heartless invasion and felt confident in handling the soon approaching Darkside. But it was not simply meant to be... Despite throwing absolutely everything she had at the beast, the Darkside would not be deterred, smashing absolutely everything in its path. Akiko would later learn that this was essentially the failed spirit of the world; a Heartless made real from the spirit of the world itself... All were powerless against its rampage, and soon, nothing was left.

Akiko retreated in her failure, as did many of her kin, who then proceeded to blame Akiko for her use of forbidden secrets. With nothing left, Akiko fled, now haunted by her failures in a world that is all but dead around her. Here, she begins a new life as Akane the Fallen, struggling to survive in the chaos.
