Death Is Not Enough: The Death Jester's presence is heralded by the shrieks of gunfire and the maniacal laughing of madness. The cacophony of sounds merely adds to the chaos of the battle, filling his enemies with dread. Once per battle, when an enemy is defeated by the Death Jester, he can make a Psyche roll to reduce the morale of other enemies in the area.
Equipment:
Shrieker Cannon: This large cannon-like sniper rifle can fire two types of rounds via selection.
By default, the standard ammunition is shuriken rounds. Sharp needle-like projectiles capable of being fired rapidly.
The secondary ammunition is shrieker rounds, known as such due to their high pitched squeal when fired. These hypodermic projectiles are filled with a virulent genetic toxin that causes caustic damage within the body of the target that fades after a few turns. This round can only be fired singularly and the projectile must hit perfectly in order to inject the toxin without breaking. A red roll is required to successfully inject the toxin, however a hit will still do normal damage.
-Scythe Mode: The Shrieker Cannon displays a long scythe-like bayonet that can double as a melee weapon. Because such a tool is used in a last ditch effort, the Death Jester cannot make multiple attacks per round and receives a -1CS to Fighting.
Cegorach's Shroud: This long greatcoat is adorned with metallic jingling bells and incorporates a programmable holo-field that breaks down the wearer's profile into a fractal lightstorm. The Shroud functions differently from a Holo-Suit in that the Shroud glows brighter and faster as the wearer is moving, providing a +1CS Agility bonus against attacks.
Death's Legacy: This armor of the Death Jester is fashioned, in part, from the bones of their predecessors. This fact alone is enough to make the enemies of the Jester be wary of him on the field of battle. Coupled with the Jester's Skull Mask, Death's Legacy has a knack of causing his opponents to flee at the mere sight of him. If in close combat, he can possibly render his opponent frozen in fear. This armor reduces the Psyche rating of enemies around him by -1CS.
Biography:
Deltannen did not begin his life as Deltannen. He can not remember his name in his prior life, nor much of his life before his transformation. The only one who does, is Cegorach, The Laughing God.
Deltannen was called to the Webway by Cegorach when Deltannen's best friend was killed in battle before his eyes. As Deltannen fell into madness at the loss of his friend, he gathered a Shrieker Cannon from a fallen Death Jester and opened fire on the enemy. His uncanny ability with such a weapon turned the tide of the battle from a guaranteed loss, to a fruitful victory.
After the smoke had cleared, Cegorach called to Deltannen. The Laughing God opened the Webway and invited Deltannen into its walls. It was this labyrinth that Deltannen became who he is today. Bestowed with his "true" name and the raiments of the Death Jester that fell in battle, crafted from the bones of his soulless husk, Deltannen returned to battle as a fearless Jester.
The price of becoming a Harlequin, is that one must play their role in the theater of battle. Deltannen, while friendly and playful outside of battle, becomes fueled by Cegorach's madness while in the throes of combat. His madness is strictly focused towards his enemies, finding immense joy in their defeat, even as far as to make defeating his enemies a grim and utterly dark joke.
