Right now we have overlapping skills that do confuse people, particularly new players. We have sharp weapons / blunt weapons and we have weapons specialist. The purpose of the first one is for people who have skill in multiple weapons types, but many people who come here believe they can use both and get two bonuses.
My proposal is remove sharp / blunt weapons and add in general categories under weapons specialist as follows:
Weapons specialist of a single weapon type remains 1 skill point
Weapons specialist: Blunt ( staves, flails, clubs ) be 2 skill points
Weapons specialist: Exotic ( claws, bladed fan, chakrams ) be 2 skill points
Weapons specialist: Sharp ( axes, swords, daggers, spears, polearms ) be 3 skill points because of the fact there are much more sharp than the other two
In addition, the weapons system overhaul has been in use for some time, and am curious on people's opinions and concerns that various weapons are balanced and if any weapons are missing that one feels needs to be looked at. The weapon system is here:
