Biography: Marnie grew up in the mostly the same circumstance as every other person in her world. Being born in Spikemuth of the Galar region, her older brother was the Gym Leader in her town. Her first pokemon she caught, she actually found. Or more accurately, her first(and only) pokemon found her.
When she was just six, her family was wandering the Wild Area below Wedgehurst and she managed to get seperated from her parents and brother by purposefully hiding in the tall grass. She wanted to try sneaking up on a pokemon! She found a Lotad which noticed her as well. It seemed to recognize her as a threat because it quickly turned and leapt at her. She felt herself being pushed out of the way by something only a little smaller than her at the time, and a smell like burnt ozone drifted into the air as she turned to see what would become her Morpeko zapping the Lotad into submission until it retreated.
She and Morpeko became fast friends despite her(The Morpeko's) quick cravings. She became quite good at making sure she had enough food to satiate her pokemon's temper. She grew up in her brother's shadow as he grew his own pokemon roster with the type that surrounded their home town. She watched her brother become to local Gym Leader and Gym Challengers from all over come to test their might against him.
Meanwhile, in her quest for independence of her family's name, she went more of the goth route and a gang that was Galar-wide called Team Yell took kindly to her. It was sort of a right-time-right-place kind of thing, but someone in Team Yell decided to start a fanclub of her and it stuck. She wasn't used to fame and noteriety coming her way, and the coping mechanism she developed was to shut herself off emotionally and put up a wall around her.
But there is something to be said for trying to be emotionally turned off, and that something is: The Heartless don't care if it's cool or alarming.
It started as a sort of urban legend. A new shadow type of pokemon that pokeballs didn't work on. Then there were multiple kinds of these shadow types. They were aggressive, and people started going missing. More and more started appearing while pokemon were becoming few and far between. Whole cities shut and locked their doors, defending however they could with their pokemon. Every pokemon and trainer that fell behind Shadow Type lines seem to multiply their numbers.
The world was falling apart around her, and she tried so desperately to remain shut off, but then she watched her parents fall, and then it was only her and her brother, but everyone was depending on him to keep the city safe. Then, the day she was for sure going to be her last, part of the city wall collapsed. Heartless flooded into the city; hundreds; thousands. No dark corner was safe, for that was their haven. She and Morpeko fended themselves off as best they could, and somehow managed to slip past them and into the wilderness. The Wilds weren't as populated, but the ones that roamed those areas were the larger, unimaginably more dangerous types of Heartless. She did her best to keep herself closed off, but there were a lot of moments of breaking down.
That would be where her story really starts...

Personality: When in Full Belly mode, it is usually a happy go lucky pudgy rodent. When in Hangry mode, it can be hostile and manipulative. The color differences in her fur act as pockets that she keeps seeds in to electrically roast which she treats with extreme care like they were treasures.
