Biography:
His childhood, hardly an easy one, was laden with bullying ever since he began school. He was a timid youth, often finding himself picked on and sometimes fought with by other boys. He didn't typically fight back, though at timely instances a big-brother figure often came along to help him, a fellow by the name of Cyrus. In spite of Cyrus' urgings to stand up for himself more often and calling him a marshmallow, Glenn had difficulty building up his sense of self-esteem.
As they grew older together, however, Cyrus decided to join the Guardia military...as many expected him to, given he exhibited the qualities of a good knight. He pressed Glenn to do the same and lauded Glenn's swordplay skill as superior to his own, and Glenn reluctantly went along with the idea. Together they found themselves thrust amidst the war between human and mystic, each side relentlessly beating one another back. With no conceivable end in sight, Cyrus and Glenn went on a mission, to fulfill an old legend regarding a medal and a legendary sword.
Their first order of business was to seize the Hero's Medal from the Frog King. Finding themselves surrounded in the marshes, Cyrus and Glenn fought ferociously and won the medal from the frog king before leaving for the mountains, where Masamune was said to sleep. As they approached the cavern entrance, a blue-haired man named Magus, leader of the Mystics, appeared before them, accompanied by Ozzie, his top general. Unable to break through, they struck Cyrus down with a mighty blow. As he lay dying, he urged Glenn to flee. Glenn, in shock to see his mentor dying, was nearly frozen in his tracks...and in his hesitation, Maguz and Ozzie mocked him, casting a curse upon him that sent him tumbling over the cliff. The Hero's Medal was lost to the flow of the stream below, and Glenn was cursed with the body of a humanoid Frog...but he survived, returning to Guardia Castle in his disgrace.
Regardless, he was well-received in Guardia Castle, though not long thereafter Queen Leene was captured and held in an occupied cathedral. In a moment of extreme happenstance, a young lady bearing a strong resemblance to the queen had arrived, though she appeared MUCH younger. When she suddenly vanished, it became apparent when Crono and Lucca arrived that the timeline had been...altered. With this appearance and Lenne's capture, the queen was likely slain...and her descendants along with her. The trio made a swift march to the cathedral and rescued Queen Leene, though in his disgrace, Glenn felt he could no longer grace Guardia's royal halls, and left for the southern marshes. It was here that he would continue to wallow in his misery and lament his weakness...
...until some time later, Crono's group approached Glenn bearing the Hero's Medal...and much to his surprise, the restored blade of Masamune. Contemplating this turn of events as destiny itself seemed to simply find its way to him, he finally agreed to help them and attempt to cast off the burdens of woe once and for all, and claim his destiny. Donning the medal and the sword, he and his compatriots marched through Magus' tower, defeating all that stood in their way. Magus himself faced off with their entourage, and was felled by their might, cast into a time portal where they became separated.
As their adventures went on, their trek leaping between various eras, Glenn bore witness to the fall of Zeal...and there stood Magus upon the cape, whereupon he realized Magus' true identity: Janus, the son of Queen Zeal, kid brother to Schala. Faced at long last with the object of his vengeance for Cyrus, he then pushed his blade back into its hilt, bearing only this statement after Crono had been felled by Lavos.
"Ending thine life...will restore neither Crono nor Cyrus theirs."
His heart burned for vengeance no longer...he understood the futility of such an endeavor. Shortly thereafter, however, Magus joined their cadre as they embarked on a quest for the Time Egg, and scaled Death's Peak to see Crono restored to life. With that decided, the group began to embark on a series of personal quests. For the likes of Glenn, he took his time to visit Cyrus' grave and bury the past once and for all. After the ruined castle had been repaired, he paid visit to his grave and honored his departed friend. Cyrus' spirit lauded him gratefully, stating he had grown to become a fine knight, and could at long last rest in peace.
In the wake of their journeys, the entire world itself had become Lavos' opponent...and with that backing them, they began their great battle with Lavos. Through grueling toil, blood, sweat, and tears, they had finally overcome the apocalypse Lavos threatened to bring about. They would celebrate in the present era of 1000 AD on the last night of the Milennial Fair, before they finally had to say goodbye and return to their eras. Glenn wasn't one for long goodbyes, but in true storybook fashion, Marle gave him a kiss, gladly saying these things should end with the princess kissing the frog. Appreciating the humor, he took his leave, taking the portal to his era in the mountains to the east of Guardia Castle, finally beginning to make his triumphant return...
...or so he thought.
