Biography: Born into poverty like many of his fellow countrymen; his home world of Valacia was ravaged by disease and hundreds of years of war and massacre. Both of his parents died in the war when he was 10, forcing himself and his sister, Nola to stay with their aunt, Caren Bagil. For the next 3 years his aunt taught him and his sister to run the sales logs and take stock at their family's general store, teaching him rudimentary arithmetic skills. At the age of 13 all the healthy males of every household were made to attend the Granatyki military academy, where they trained in the use of melee and ranged combat along with learning the advantages of tactical warfare and other various skills. Dias excelled in the use of the sword and was promoted to an honorary swordsman position within his country's army on the day of his 16th birthday, two weeks later he was deployed to the front lines of the war effort. He showed remarkable ability on the battlefield and was promoted to Swordmaster of the 906th Granatian battalion, continuing to fight on for another four years of relentless bloodshed against the country of Heladin. Dias returned to his home village after his 20th birthday expecting a warm greeting, only to find that it had been razed and nearly totally destroyed by the Heladian force. While mourning over the ashes of what was his village, he rummaged through the wreckage of his old home coming across a partially burned note from his sister stating that his her and his aunt had moved on to another village, but the name of it was burned out, with only the letter "R" remaining to give him a clue. Dias set out, abandoning his militaristic duties and began to wander the roads relentlessly, day by day he would search all the towns and stops along the roadways for any sign or rumor of his remaining family. He holds onto the hope that one day he may finally be reunited with them and able to live a life of peace; the one thing he has always wanted.
