Magic And Abilities

As mentioned before, magic is still very much a part of this world. There are many people who are gifted with magical abilities, though they are still rare within the world. With such a large population of people, most of them are normal and have no magical affinity. Those who do wield magic, can wield a variety of different magics. Below is a list of magic, but it is not the full capability, as there are many more magics to be discovered.



Chi magic



This is a form of magic used by coercing the energy (Chi) within ones own body, and using it to enhance the body. It can take two main forms, Body Chi and Mind Chi.

Body Chi is not a visible use of Chi. Instead, it strengthens the body, makes fists or limbs more durable and able to hit harder. It can also speed up the healing process, enabling the user to heal broken bones and scrapes at a much faster rate. Someone who has their body Chi in perfect harmony, has much better control over their own body. They are able to move faster if they desire, purge their bodies of toxins, and are generally as a rule much healthier. Body Chi users have a greater mastery and understanding of their own bodies.

Mind Chi is the physical manifestation of ones own Chi. It is tangible and can be easily seen when wielded. It takes many forms, as individual as the user. Many Chi wielders have intricate hand motions to control and summon the Chi into this tangible form. It often forms colored mist like energy, and flows with the user. It can form bolts, orbs, balls and many more things. The only limit for what the Chi can be molded into, is the users imagination. This form of Chi magic can also be used to heal others, enveloping them in the protective healing Chi energy.

Chi users have not been seen actively in the Land of Dragons in many lifetimes, though there are rumors of them still living high in the mountains.



Elemental Magic



This is a form of magic using 1 or more of the 5 elements. Often they are elements that work well with each other, such as Earth and Metal, or Wood and Fire. There are a few elemental magic users scattered throughout the land, they are not as common as they used to be, but there is still great potential for elemental magic in the world.



Spirit Magic



This magic is once again rare, though there are whispers and rumors that there are people able to practice this magic. Spirit Magic involves being able to see the spirit world in some form. Some can see it well, others are even able to travel there in body. Others merely see spirits and can commune with them. They can petition the spirits for help, or learn skills from them. Spirit magic is not fully understood, and often is confused with necromancy. As such, many Spirit magic users, are afraid to reveal their abilities to others.



Nature Magic



The power to wield nature is something far more common, in a land abundant with life. This encompasses both talking with animals and the ability to commune with plants and trees. Nature magic does not differ very much here, to other places in the collected worlds. Nature magic users from the Land of Dragons though, do tend to be very creative with their abilities. They tend not to give themselves limitations, having grown up in a world full of mysticism.



Martial Arts



While not a magic as such, it is still worth mentioning this very diverse skill. There are many forms that martial arts can take. Some martial arts are designed to be fluid, such as Tai Chi. Many people feel Tai Chi is not an effective fighting style, however, it is a very efficient style and can be very useful. There are other styles, designed to inflict maximum pain for a fast take down. Some focus on speed or strength in the body, while there are entire martial arts devoted to the perfection of one weapon. There are so many martial arts that it is almost impossible to list them all and all their flaws/benefits. Once again, as with many things in this bright and colorful land, martial arts are as unique and intricate as the person learning.
