There are actually two Sarroses ( Sarrosi? ) on the island, from different timelines. Both of their backgrounds will be explained below. Most of it is the same, though there is some small differences between them.
Sarros Salazar, Leader of the Island Defense Force
Sarros Salazar was born in a small village in the middle of one of the many forests in his country. His parents had both been soldiers before him and brought him up as a soldier.
There had been a war ongoing, a war going on for so long nobody could remember how it started, the enemies of this country wnated to destroy all the forests and take the people as prisoners and slaves. To stop this from happening, Sarros joined the army.
Sarros showwed immediate skill, being an expert at moving through the forest silently and exceptional skill with a sword. He also had an outstanding command presence that make soldiers around him immediately respect him and follow his orders. Soldiers were the only people in the country allowed to learn magic, being forbidden for others to use because of the potentially hazardous nature of it. Sarros learned simply the bare minimum he had to, feeling it wasn't fair for soldiers to learn something illegal. He has a minor control of nature abilities.
He was quickly selected for an experimental procedure that would augment his body, making him the perfect soldier. His muscles became denser and more powerful, but they also give him other adaptations to improve his speed and agility. In the end the strength augmentations became more powerful, and the heavier weight and structure hampered his agility growth but kept him from losing any ground.
The new super soldiers, including Sarros, went out into the field with overhwlming success, however one thing they had not taken into account was Sarros's unwillingness to murder if it wasn't needed. Yes, enemies need to die, but killing everyone just becuase they are the enemy makes you no better then them, he thought.
He became quite adept at strategies that resulted in the enemy groups being surrounded and forced to surrender. These enemies then provided information, were used as prisoner exchanges, and some even converted.
His fierce personality and demanding of perfection eventually got him put in as a Drill Sergeant for some time, training the next generation of troops. One day, while in his office preparing for the next day, a man appeared in his office, informing Sarros he had a grand destiny, but not here. When Sarros attempted to attack the intruder he fell through a dark portal, arriving on Fantasy Island.
Sarros Salazar is rude, crude, and in your face. There are few he will show respect to, though anyone who shows a skill in fighting and an equal attitude will likely recieve said respect. Madaline, a young woman he is close to, also seems to have his respect and loyalty, though what she did to earn it is unknown.
Currently, he is back assisting with the Island Defense Force, respected but not really liked... which is just the way he likes it.
Sarros, Forest Protector
Sarros was born in a small village in the middle of one of the many forests in his country. His father had been a soldier for his country, while his mother was an enemy soldier that had been captured and then enslaved. Over time however, they began to fall i love and even though he freed her from the enslavement she stayed and married him. They made sure their children knew that being an enemy doesn't mean they are not human, and said htey never wanted their children to do the same as them.
Sarros was encouraged to do many thigns in his life, whatever felt best to him. Often he would be seen with a pet wolf that he had rescued as a cub when it's mother was killed, swinging a stick around while the wolf helped him 'capture the enemy'
There had been a war ongoing, a war going on for so long nobody could remember how it started. His country had the most bountiful forests, and as the other nations went through their resources they turned their greedy eyes towards this nation, wanting to cut down the trees and use it for themselves, not caring about the animals within. Knowwing the animals would die, and then the people within would die, Sarros decided to join the army.
Sarros showwed immediate skill, being an expert at moving through the forest silently and exceptional skill with a sword. He also had an impecable ability to follow through with virtually any order, quickly earning the respect of his superiors. However, he was not always totally serious, he was known as rather laid back and a prankster from time to time, helping with gruop morale. Soldiers were the only people in the country allowed to learn magic, being forbidden for others to use because of the potentially hazardous nature of it. Sarros embraced magic rather warmly, specializing in nature abilities. He does know a little of other magics, though Nature is his primary focus.
He was quickly selected for an experimental procedure that would augment his body, making him the perfect soldier. His muscles became denser and more powerful, but they also give him other adaptations to improve his speed and agility. In the end the dexterous augmentations became more powerful, and while the heavier desnisty of his body did hamper him some, he still showwed quickness that far exceeded most normal soldiers, while also gaining a fair amount of strength.
The new super soldiers, including Sarros, went out into the field with overhwlming success, completing many covert operations against spies that had entered the country and having the men brought in for interrogation and possible conversion. They were even skilled at taking out enemy detachments that had breached the borders.
He quickly rose through the ranks and volenteered himself when a promotion became availible to teach the next generation of troops what he had learned, ensuring that the borders would be safe. He focused heavily on defensive strategies, not offense. One day, while in his office preparing for the next day, a man appeared in his office, informing Sarros he had more important work to do. When asked what he meant, the man simply said 'smile for your destiny' before a purple dome encompassed him, taking him to a new world.
Sarros took to his new home well enough, though he never truely found himself comfortable with his new allies. They were too militaristic in the fact that anyone who opposed them needed to be killed, end of story. He felt that was earning them more enemies then needed.
One day there was an attack on their base of operations. Assassins attacked as many homes as they could, with grevious injuries all around. He watched Misha perish at the hands of the enemy before they all had to flee for their lives. His girlfriend at the time also failed to survive the evacuation.
Several months later, while resting in his new home, he had a dream of Misha still being alive, and needing help. He tried to find her, and in the end.. turned out not to be a dream at all, for when he awoke he was with her again. No real remembrance of how she survived that day. They both shortly after arrived on Fantasy Island.
He currently works with the forest protectors, where his laid back personality and skills help protect nature from various enemies. He's still close to Misha, not wanting to lose one of the few close friends he still has.
