PostSubject: Body Armors   Wed Nov 15, 2017 4:41 pm

Below are the various types of basic armor in the game, with more advanced armors getting added later. Do note that while most armors do not provide magical protection, there are people who can add such. Level of protection depends on the armor and the types of magic protection is wanted for.

Warrior-Type Armor
This equipment can be purchased from Faunalyn Moonflower's shops.

Leather Armor - Provides typical protection from blunt attacks ( staves, clubs, maces ), and poor from all other types.

Studded Leather Armor - Provides poor protection from piercing attacks, and typical from all other types. Restrictions: Agility type 1.

Ring Mail Armor - Provides good protection from blunt attacks ( staves, clubs, maces ), and typical from all other types. Restrictions: Agility type 2.

Scale Mail Armor - Provides typical protection from piercing attacks, and good from all other types. Restrictions: Agility type 2, Swimming type 1.

Banded Mail Armor - Provides good protection from all physical attacks. Wearer is immune to non-firearm ranged attacks unless it's a called shot. Restrictions: Agility type 2, Swimming type 1.

Splint Mail Armor - Provides excellent protection from blunt attacks, and good to all other types. Wearer is immune to non-firearm ranged attacks unless it is a called shot. Restrictions: Agility type 3, Swimming type 2. Maximum run speed is lowered one rank.

Plate Mail Armor - Provides excellent protection from all physical attacks. Wearer is immune to non-firearm ranged attacks. Restrictions: Agility type 4, Swimming type 4. Maximum run speed is lowered two ranks.

Modifications Available
Mithril: Agility, Running, Swimming penalties reduced by 1. Cost is doubled.
Bronze: Agility, Swimming penalties increased by 1. Cost is halved.
Wing Slits: Allows wearer to have their wings outside of the armor. Cost increases by 20%

Mage Robes
These 'armors' are available from the magic school. The appropriate ranked robe is given out to those who have qualified for that rank.

Beginner's Robe - Provides poor protection vs magic
Apprentice's Robe - Provides typical protection vs magic
Mage's Robe - Provides good protection vs magic

NOTE: While this gives protection vs magic, some spells will bypass this protection. The most common exception will be mind magic.

Other Armors
These are other armors available in the game currently.

Kevlar Armor - Provides Poor protection against physical attacks. This increase to good vs ranged, and excellent vs bullets.

Armored Uniform - Not truly armored, but provides Typical protection against piercing attacks ( daggers and spears ) and Poor vs all other physical attacks.

Agility Restrictions
Instead of having to add it to every piece or armor each armor will have a restriction level. The definition to what each is limited to is below:

Type 1:  Agility and defensive rolls limited to Incredible. Offensive skill bonuses limited to Amazing.
Type 2: Agility and defensive rolls limited to Remarkable.
Type 3: Agility and defensive rolls limited to Excellent. Also reduces fighting stat -1CS.
Type 4: Agility and defensive rolls limited to Good. Also reduces fighting stat -1CS.
Type 5: Agility and defensive rolls limited to Typical. Also reduces fighting stat -2CS.

Swimming Restrictions
The weight of certain armors can effect swimming. The categories for each are below. Do note the average person in the RPG swims at poor or feeble. If this would knock your swimming ability below feeble, you cannot swim with the armor you are wearing and you will start to drown. Each category is listed below:

Type 1: -1CS to swimming
Type 2: -2 CS to swimming
Type 3: -3 CS to swimming
Type 4: -4 CS to swimming

Strength Restrictions
Armor can be heavy, as such a character must have at least a certain level of strength to wear armors. In most cases characters should meet these requirements already, this is more for younger characters or non-humanoid characters.

Normal armor: Scale and Banded armors require Poor strength, Splint and Plate armors require Typical strength.
Mithril: Splint and Plate armor requires Poor strength
Bronze: Ring mail requires Poor strength, Scale and Banded require Typical strength, Splint and Plate require Good strength

Note: For 'full' of Ring armor or higher ( Normal chest and leg armors but also boots, vambraces, helmet.. well in short, the full set ), the strength requirement goes up one level, and the penalties increase one level. In the case of studded leather, it simply caps the offensive bonus at Incredible.
